DTCC Launches Digital Asset Solutions Business – Marketing Channels

I am writing to share important information about DTCC’s digital assets strategy and to outline how we will be working with you in the coming weeks as we prepare for the next phase of this work.

Following the legal approval in December of last year to offer a new real-world certification service, DTC’s stored assets, we launched a new line of business, DTCC Digital Assets Solutions. This move reflects growing consumer interest in tokenization and builds on the outstanding work of DTCC Digital Assets (formerly Securrency, acquired in 2023), which remains at the forefront of digital currency market infrastructure development. Together, the two businesses will collaborate to strengthen DTCC’s leadership role as a trusted bridge between traditional marketing infrastructure and evolving digital asset management systems.

  • DTCC Digital Asset Solutions will sit within Clearing & Securities Services, which includes our three service providers and is led by Brian Steeleand especially under our Equities portfolio, led by Val Wotton. It will be responsible for developing and managing DTCC’s strategy to tokenize assets in DTC’s custody. In doing so, it will develop a range of innovative solutions that complement DTCC’s existing assets and services. To ensure maximum performance, the business will use technology developed by DTCC Digital Assets to deliver integrated offerings with DTCC infrastructure and risk planning. Tom Sullivanwith over 20 years of experience in securities and banking with a focus on performance and innovation, he will lead DTCC Digital Asset Solutions.
  • DTCC Digital Assets, under the leadership of Nadine Chakarwill continue its pioneering work in digital technology and create platforms compatible with technology and industry, building on its successful work in developing solutions such as DTCC ComposerX, DTCC LaunchPad and Collateral AppChain in the Web3 digital ecosystem. DTCC Digital Assets will also continue to focus on developing and improving its ComposerX platform to support the industry, which will enable customers to use the infrastructure used by DTCC.

As always, DTCC will apply the same high standards of risk management, integrity, security and reliability that customers have come to expect from our traditional services.

Establishment of the Digital Asset Solutions Advisory Council

To support the development of DTCC Digital Asset Solutions offerings and ensure close alignment with industry needs, we are creating Digital Asset Solutions Advisory Councilwill start in Q2 2026. The Council will mainly consist of senior business leaders from client firms and will focus on business level needs, product prioritization and client readiness related specifically to DTCC Digital Assets Solutions offering and DTC digital projects, including our new tokenization service.

For now, the current Early Users Working Group, created late last year to focus on specific use cases, will continue to work but will be folded under the new Digital Asset Solutions Advisory Council before the first meeting in late April. We will contact participating firms with further details shortly.

The mandate of the already established Digital Assets Advisory Council, linked to DTCC’s Digital Assets, will continue to focus broadly on digital assets infrastructure, innovation and maintenance of the Web3 environment, and to advocate for collaboration, cooperation and standards across the industry. The two councils will work closely together to ensure policy reform.

As tokenization continues to gain prominence, DTCC remains committed to working closely with our clients to lead the digital transformation of the global financial system and create the digital platform of the future.
